My Prized Possession

I have been playing table tennis for almost half of my life. I love this sport and I can’t help myself to love it more. I’m very much thankful to my table tennis racket for sticking with me through ups and downs. I am so attached to my racket that I can’t play well if I’m not using it. I treated my racket as my partner. Every time I compete, I always see to it that my racket is in good condition.

No matter what will be the results of the game, I always feel good and thankful to my racket for helping me survived till then end of the game.

My team mates always complain that I am so selfish for not letting them borrow my racket but I don’t mind them. What’s important is I’m taking care of my racket and I don’t want someone to destroy it. We have been together since I started playing. I skipped my meals and deprived myself of buying new things just to save my money so I can buy my racket. It is so important to me and I will stick to it until my last game.

I love table tennis

I was an ordinary elementary pupil. I would say my life is simple and boring; I don’t have any hobbies or pastime except reading.

I was in my fifth grade when my boring life changed. It was like any ordinary afternoon when one of my classmates approached me and asked me if I want to join in table tennis. At that time, I don’t have any idea what a table tennis is because it was not a popular sport in our school. But then I fancied the idea of being an athlete and because my classmate said that our trainer\coach is one of our teachers so I said YES.

We immediately went to our teacher and he asked us if we know how to play table tennis and we said no. He then asked us if we are willing to undergone training and without a second thought we said YES.

I play so I can study and I study so I can play.

During our first try, we were so disappointed and somewhat surprised because we never imagined that it would that hard to play table tennis. I am so ashamed to our trainer because I know that we were giving him a hard time.

Our trainer was very patient and kind towards us and he always encouraging us to go on and never give-up. I don’t want to disappoint him so I did all my best to learn the sport until finally my performance had done well. Our trainer congratulated me for my improvement and I was really proud of myself. It was then that for the first time I fell in love with table tennis.

It was then that I started joining sports completion that are sponsored by our school. Since then, we were sent to different places to represent our school, town and province. Places of which I never imagined that I could go to. Those competitions really brought innumerable changes in my life. I was change from a frail child to a strong one, from a boring life to a more adventurous and exciting life. It also gave me advantages and privileges in my studies. I play so I can study and I study so I can play.

I was an athlete for almost half of my life and I never regret to be one. Sometimes I wonder if what would happen after I finished my studies. Will I continue to play table tennis? As for now I don’t know the answer yet, but one thing is sure; I will forever love TABLE TENNIS.
